At Park Hill Nursery we offer exceptional care and individual tailored education for each child. Led by Manager Heidi, who holds a Level 5 in Management and a Level 4 in Early Years, our team is dedicated to providing a safe, stimulating, and enriching environment for children from birth to 11 years old.

Our family centred and well-established staff team have high expectations, firm but fair boundaries which help to empower all children and make them ready for the next steps in their learning journey.
We will encourage all the children to develop a love of books.
Through exciting, challenging, and fun activities children develop lifelong skills which include being confident learners and communicators, can use their imagination and be creative, understanding and the ability to show empathy, be part of our wider community, enjoying and taking part in regular physical exercise, developing, and becoming aware of healthy eating habits.
At Nursery we have had our kitchen upgraded which has enabled us to provide cooked lunches to our children, the cooked lunches go hand in hand with the importance of healthy eating we follow at Park Hill Nursery . Please find our attached delicious cooked lunch menu:
After school club and Holiday Club
We also provide after school care for Tidcombe primary school and a holiday club for all school aged children.
With over 25 years of experience, Heidi and our highly qualified staff prioritise individual needs and create a secure space for children to learn and grow. We offer a flexible approach with 51-week care options.
Our experienced and passionate team includes qualified early years practitioners who are committed to providing the highest quality of care. We prioritise ongoing professional development to ensure we are always delivering the best possible support for your child.
Tapestry
We use an online learning journey called Tapestry here at Park Hill Nursery to keep track of children’s progress throughout their time with us. Because this is an online process, parents have access to children’s learning instantly, and can also contribute to observations using an app available from all popular app stores. Tapestry is completely secure and only approved people have access to your child’s journal.

What Is the Early Years Foundation Stage?
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the stage of education for children from birth to the end of the Reception year.
It sets the standards for the learning, development and care of your child from birth to 5 years old and ensure that your child will learn and develop well and be kept healthy and safe.
It is based on the recognition that children learn best through play and active learning and is the same curriculum as in reception classes in school.
What Will My Child Be Learning?
The EYFS framework outlines seven areas of learning and development and educational programmes.
There are three prime areas of learning, which are particularly important for your child’s development and future learning:
- Communication and language
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Physical development
There are four specific areas of learning, through which the prime areas are strengthened and applied:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
We will consider your child’s needs and interests to plan challenging and enjoyable activities and experiences. You can help us to do this by sharing your observations of your child’s interests at home.
There are also three characteristics of effective teaching and learning:
- Playing and exploring
- Active learning
- Creating and thinking critically
These tell us about how each child learns not what they are learning
Play is essential for children’s development, building their confidence as they learn to explore, relate to others, set their own goals and solve problems. Children learn by leading their own play, and by taking part in play which is guided by adults.
